A message from Joel Levy - MD
To our customers and suppliers
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having a significant impact on the world and now on South Africa. Although the country will be on lockdown from 27 March until 16 April, we at Levtrade International (Pty) Ltd and Burnshield (Pty) Ltd will continue to operate. Whilst we have no reported infections in our company, we understand the serious nature and risks associated with the COVID-19 virus. To ensure our staff remain “infection free” and to enable us to continue supplying products to our high standards, we have implemented strict measures within our factory which include:
- Hand sanitisers are available at all entrances, workstations and utilities.
- Daily staff screenings.
- Hygiene procedures.
- Increased frequency and intensity of cleaning practices in high density and common use areas.
- Enforced strict access control to all external partners visiting our buildings.
- Encouraged working from home where possible.
The following measures have been implemented with immediate effect to protect Drivers and Representatives from our valued Customers and Suppliers. Whilst these measures may cause slight delays, we have trained our staff to be efficient and at the same time be effective in implementing these measures:
For Deliveries
- Our Receiving Warehouse doors will be closed at all times.
- Drivers to knock and wait for a response.
- All drivers will be expected to disinfect hands upon arrival, and again just before leaving our premises. No goods may be offloaded until this process has been performed.
- If your Driver arrives whilst we are in the process of processing another receipt, we ask the driver to stop at least 5 meters away and remain in his/her vehicle until the receiving landing is free.
- We ask suppliers to inform their driver to practice good hygiene measures, cover their nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or flexed elbow and refrain from physical contact with any of our staff
For Collections
- Please report to our Reception.
- We ask for drivers to ring the bell, identify themselves to receptionist and remain outside our building.
- All drivers will be expected to disinfect hands upon arrival, and again just before leaving our premises. No goods may be offloaded until this process has been performed.

- All Representatives will be expected to disinfect hands upon arrival, and again just before leaving our premises.
- The Representative will then be directed to one of our boardrooms.
- On entering, Representatives will be asked to read and acknowledge a few simple rules.
- We ask for Representatives to refrain from any physical contact with any of our staff.
- We ask you kindly to respect these measures and they will remain in place until further notice. These measures are to the benefit of us all. Should any issues arise, please call our receptionist at (011) 827-4140 and we will try assist immediately.
